From The Founder
This is another exciting year for Beaumont Civic Ballet; and the Company is 36 years old this season. The dancers this year are young, energetic, and on a mission to be good dancers and perfom with the strongest classical company in the area. Five of our young dancers were accepted for advance summer study with the School of American Ballet and The Joffrey Ballet this year.
We are so proud of our alumni that have progressed to become professional dancers with major companies, as well as dance teachers, school teachers, etc.... to name a few are Edmund and Robbie LaFosse, Krissy Richmond, Margo McCann, Jennifer Mattingly, Allison Odom, Kendra Snaufer, and Josh Spell.
BCB was an Honor Company in the Regional Dance America Southwest organization for some 33 years, with an outstanding record of performing on the Festival Gala held each year in a different city. The Southwest Region includes over 20 companies in five states.
My staff of teachers, including Monique Zummo Steinhagen, is extrememly talented in training the dancers, re-staging the ballets., rehearsing, etc. BCB's growth is impressive and our goals soar high. Set for February 21, 2010, "Spring Into Dance" featuring "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs", choreographed by BCB's own Ballet Mistress, Megan Anderson.
